Release Blitz DEACON by Kit Rocha, #2 Gideon’s Riders series
Ana has trained most of her life to achieve one goal: to prove that anything men can do, she can do better. Now she’s Sector One’s first female Rider, and being the best is the only way to ensure she won’t be its last. Distractions aren’t allowed–especially not her painful attraction to the reserved but demanding leader whose stern, grumpy demeanor has already gotten into her head.
Deacon has spent the last twenty years trying to atone for his past, but the blood he spilled as a mercenary and assassin will never wash away entirely. If his Riders knew the extent of his sins, he’d lose their trust and respect. It’s easier to keep them all at arm’s length, especially Ana. But his newest recruit’s stubbornness is starting to crack his defenses.
And their sparring matches are driving him wild.
The passion sparking between them can’t be denied, but neither can the vengeance barreling toward Deacon. When his old squad comes back to punish him for his betrayal, Ana and the Riders are squarely in the line of fire. The only way to save his people may be to make the ultimate sacrifice.
But first, he has to convince Ana not to follow him straight into hell.

When I was reading “Beyond Surrender” the last book of the Beyond series by Kit Rocha I was a little lost because it was going to end up one of my favorite series, then came Gideon’s Riders and with this spin off series it’s set in the same reality of the Sectors of that amazing dystopian series.
The protagonists are changed, but the scenario is the same, at the end of the war between the Sectors and Eden. On one hand, now they’re free from Eden’s tyranny; on the other hand the war has left uncertainty, they must rebuild everything, and they must learn how to handle this chaotic moment of change, in which there are many enemies to be faced.
Gideon’s Sector One with his Riders made their part in this revolution, being the best fighters for this battle and this spin-off series was born to give the right space to their stories. I love the Riders, the devotion they feel for their leader, the faith they have in him and the attachment they show towards their people. Their mission is to protect, their destiny to carry out the most difficult and dangerous missions to erase the dangers and enemies for them. They are Angels of Death,
almost invincible, because they push themselves beyond limits to fight in what they believe.
Joining the Riders is not easy, there boundaries, they are the ones who are precluded from forming a family, so they don’t have to face the problem to choose between duty and love in crucial situations.
“Deacon” is the second book of this series and it’s a story in which Riders’ faith and trust will be put to the test and it’s also the story of Deacon and Ana.
Deacon is the leader of the Riders on the field, but he is also the man who could destroy in a heartbeat all their trust, revealing his origin and his past.
Ana is the first woman to join the Riders, she has a big responsibility on her shoulders, she can’t fail, she can’t show weaknesses, she wants to give in the future the chance to join the Riders to other girls.
One of the biggest obstacles faced by Ana is the deep attraction she feels for Deacon, and she fights against these feelings with all her will-power.
But once Deacon’s past comes to hunt him, altering the equilibrium inside the Riders, many things will be challenged to face an enemy that might prove to be very difficult to defeat.
I loved the plot, is very good, alternating moments of tension and action, with the romance story between Ana and Deacon, who are protagonists tough, with strong personalities but full of passion.
I’m in love with the Riders, their bond is so solid and deep, and they’re fun together to read, without neglecting the charm of their charismatic leader Gideon.
I would never tire of reading the stories set in this world, I love this reality and its protagonists and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!
