THE VINTNER’S VIXEN by Rebecca Norinne & Jamaila Brinkley
Welcome to River Hill, where the only thing more intoxicating than the wine is the man who makes it.
With movie roles for “curvy best friend” drying up fast, actress Angelica Travis is happy to be leaving Hollywood behind for a project she’s truly passionate about: renovating an historic bed and breakfast in peaceful wine country. She’s got plans and power tools ready, but an inconvenient attraction to her obnoxious new neighbor is NOT on the agenda.
Winemaker Noah Bradstone wants nothing more than to cultivate his grapes and win awards for his wine. But when construction on the B&B next door threatens his vines, Noah goes on a rampage – and comes up hard against the sexiest starlet he’s ever seen. Exactly the sort of woman he’s vowed never to get involved with again.
Angelica and Noah might be able to resolve their differences over a glass of some very fine wine, but when her opportunity at breakout stardom comes calling, all bets are off.

Sometimes appearances can be deceiving, and Noah Bradstone with his grumpy, reserved and suspicious character around women has no interest in revealing what lies behind the surface.
He chose a difficult and contrasted way to follow his passion for viticulture and wine, breaking away from his father’s productions, more traditional and well known, following his need to create something of his own.
I always thought I could find out more about a man through his relationship with animals, especially dogs, a real litmus test that allows you to notice lot of things you couldn’t see in any other way, and Molly, Noah’s labrador, can show us some aspects very nice and caring of Noah.
The first meeting between Noah and Angelica doesn’t start under lucky circumstances, indeed, Noah is furious because the workers, hired by his new neighbor, have barbarously eradicated his precious vines. No, definitely the wrong way to get acquainted with him for Angelica, but in this quarrel Molly is there with her little role of peacemaker.
I can’t deny that much of Noah’s charm is due precisely with his mood a little rough around the edges, simple, instinctive, direct. He feels conflicting emotions towards Angelica, but for him it’s really difficult to trust someone, however he can’t resist the temptation she represents. With her sexy and curvaceous body she embodies his ideal of feminine beauty, but he’s even more attracted to Angelica because she is smart and funny.
Taste is one of the pleasures of life and Noah, along with his love for wine, has a way of appreciating beautiful things through his senses. He is a tactile man, who loves touching his vines, his “creatures”, but also Angelica’s body. He loves to look at her, enjoying her beauty and showing his need for her.
I really loved that, even if at times he manages to entangle everything on his own.
Beetween Noah and Angelica there’s an explosive chemistry, but we can also see they just love spending time together, their bond is not based only on passion, but it’s also the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Angelica surprised me as character, I was expecting a movie star a bit out of the reality of everyday life, but she isn’t like that. She’s a solid woman who invests everything she has in a dream and she’s ready to roll up her sleeves to carry on her project. She is nice, but aware of her potential and she knows how to use her skills and she’s also been able to stand up to Noah in a fantastic way.
“The Vintner’s Vixen” is the first book in the River Hill series, written by Rebecca Norinne and Jamaila Brinkley, a series I think has great potential, I really liked the atmosphere in which the story is set and Noah’s friends are very intriguing, I hope to find out more about them in the next books.
